Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a 5,000-year-old Chinese system of natural healing, which focuses on restoring proper energy flow to the various organs, glands, and tissues of the body. The interruption of energy flow occurs in the channels of energy flow, which are located throughout the body, just below the surface of the skin as well as in the spinal column where the vertebrae may become misaligned. Dr. Kersten will carefully observe your signs and symptoms to detect where the disturbance of your energy flow is originating and utilize acupuncture treatments to correct interferences in your energy balance system.

What We Offer

Kersten Chiropractic & Acupuncture offers acupuncture to a majority of practice members. While needle acupuncture is available and used on some willing practice members, Dr. Kersten also performs needleless acupuncture in the forms of electrical acupuncture, spring-loaded pressure acupuncture (Tei-Shin), and pressure point acupuncture by use of the fingertips.

That’s It?

Are you skeptical of acupuncture? Dr. Kersten understands, which is why he offers several different forms of needleless acupuncture. Even needleless acupuncture, however, is often very gentle. The needles used in this process are typically so fine that they cannot be felt going into the skin. Naturally, some body points are tender than others, and those spots are reserved for practice members who have more experience with acupuncture.

Health Benefits

Similar to chiropractic, acupuncture is crucial to pain relief and reduction of muscle spasms. Common conditions treated by acupuncture are headaches, tics, hepatitis, asthma, bronchitis, shortness of breath, coughs, heart troubles, weak eyesight, glaucoma, tonsillitis, loss of hearing, skin conditions, and so much more. Acupuncture is even known to rectify nervous or psychiatric factors based on the fact that mental problems arise from physical disorders. Acupuncture is great on its own, but it is especially effective when used alongside chiropractic adjustments. For this reason, Dr. Kersten believes in the meshing the two to create optimum outcomes for his practice members.
