Needle Acupuncture Mandan ND

Dr. Kersten performs Acupuncture through a number of ways:

Needle Acupuncture:

The Acupuncture seeks to release the flow of the body's vital energy or "chi" (prounounced "chee") by stimulating along 14 energy pathways, called meridians, throughout the body. Acupuncture needles are very thin, and most people feel no pain or very little pain when they are inserted.

Electrical Acupuncture:

If you are afraid of needles, NO WORRIES! Dr. Kersten uses another form of Acupuncture called Electrical Acupuncture. This type of acupuncture does not use needles, nor does it "puncture" the skin. The appropriate points are selected and stimulated to help the patient heal better. This is essentially pain-less and the stimulation is rarely felt at all, however the benefit of the treatments is the same as needle acupuncture.

Auricular Acupuncture:

Lastly, another treatment used in our office is called Auricular Acupuncture. Most people don't realize you can treat the whole body through the ear. We often utilize this in patient care to assist in the healing process in addition to chiropractic adjustments. Auricular Acupuncture is the stimulation of acupuncture points on the external ear surface for the diagnosis and treatment of health conditions in other areas of the body. Ear acupuncture has proven to be an efficient method of treating a wide variety of conditions from headaches and allergies to addictions and pain disorders. Some of the common conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Digestive Problems
  • Infertility
  • Headaches
  • Allergies
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Shoulder, knee, and ankle problems
  • And much more!
